If you are visiting Dubai, one of the sites you will most likely want to see will be the Burj Dubai (Arabic for Dubai Tower.)  This tower is going to be the tallest structure in the world.  As of writing this, they are on the 138th floor of construction and it is standing 498 meters tall.  Emaar Properties is the developer for this project.

The Burj Dubai is set to be an icon of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and the entire Middle East itself.  It is gleaming with splendid architecture,  fountains, and other amazing facets.  According to the Burj Dubai websit: “For those standing in other global capitals, it is a shining symbol- an icon of the new Middle East: prosperous, dynamic, and successful.”  This is just one of the modern wonders of Dubai, and would make any travel to the UAE more memorable.

The north shore of Oahu has some of the best surfing in the world. The Banzai Pipeline is a famous surfing spot in the area. It got its name because the wave breaks and creates an extremely long pipeline that can be surfed by experts.

For the land lover, there is also an extensive amount of hiking on the resort. There are 12 miles of hiking trails right on the resort. These trails are shore side and are sure to be a great time.

Turtle watching is also a favorite activity of the guests. You can either take a guided boat to try to see turtles, or you can go snorkeling with the Resort’s equipment free for an hour. When you are snorkeling there is actually a good chance of seeing a turtle in the coral.

Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain is a very photogenic location that must be included in your trip to Rome.  It was originally built as an ending point to the aqua virgo, a roman aqueduct.  It is tradition to build a large fountain at the terminating point of an aqueduct.  The aqueducts were ruined, when the Goths invaded Rome.  The Trevi Fountain was re-built in the renaissance to its present form.

It is a legend that if you throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain, you will be ensured a return to Rome.  Over 3000 Euros are thrown into the Trevi Fountain on an average day.  These coins are then collected at night and are used by the Italian government to subsidize a Supermarket for the needy.

Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab is one of the worlds finest hotels. When first looking at it you will notice that it is designed to look like a sail blowing in the wind. This landmark on the Dubai coastline shows some tremendous architecture on its own private artificial island. This ensures privacy for its typically high profile guests.

One of the highlights of your stay at the Burj Al Arab would be the Assawan Spa. This spa and health club offers many luxuries such as two infinity pools. The spa is built to bring a harmonious balance of well being and relaxation. There are both mixed and ladies only areas of the spa which insures privacy if it is desired. However, you will be most impressed with the ability of the masseuses at the Assawan Spa. They are trained to be able to preform many different massages that have different effects on the body and has been developed over generations.

As you would expect, the dining at the Burj Al Arab is second to none. The experience has just as much emphasis as the food, and they are both extravagant. The restaurant Al Muntaha, which means “ultimate” or “highest,” has a great view of Dubai and offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf.
